In preparation for Christmas, Scaredy Squirrel comes up with page after page of items needed to cure anything from the stress of the holiday to shopping traffic. He also includes various lists, charts, diagrams and tips throughout the book, dealing with gingerbread houses and the art of wrapping gifts. This hilarious book, poking fun at the craziness of the holiday season is a great way to laugh your way through the madness...of course, if you start collecting survival items in August, it may not be so crazy!
Who's it for? This is a great read aloud for children ages 5-8. The reading level is 3.3.
Lesson plans/Activities:
1. Choose a holiday event and create your own survival guide, complete with lists, diagrams and tips.
2. Create a story based on Scaredy Squirrel and one of his fears. Create a problem and help solve things the Scaredy Squirrel way! Attach a fun picture of Scaredy Squirrel to the story and display.
This sounds like a great book. Very cute and informative. Thanks for sharing.
