It's Tips on Tuesday time! Are you wondering what those numbers or letters correspond to when trying to figure out your child's reading level? I know. It's confusing. Schools use all different programs to help instruct your children with "just right" books. Some are leveled by letters and some are leveled by numbers. Here is a list, made by Harcourt, of the various programs used today in the lower and middle level grades. Just find your child's grade level on the left and slide your finger to the right. Look across the top of the chart until you find the program that your school uses. Then drag your other finger down and check out the number or letter in the box. This is the number or letter that corresponds to grade level reading in your child's school. Hope this is helpful!
