The 12 Days of Christmas! The True Meaning of Christmas.

Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 days of Christmas!  Today, we are venturing beyond Santa.  After all, there wouldn't be a red suited man if it weren't for all of the wonderful things that occurred long ago.  These books touch on the various aspects that make Christmas such a glorious celebration and they also tell the tales of long ago that influenced the tradition of our beloved Santa Claus.  Christmas is really about giving, loving, helping and believing.  Check 'em out!

In Humphrey's First Christmas,  a cranky camel helps us discover the love and happiness found when you give from the heart.  You'll fall in love with Humphrey and even your littlest ones will grasp the true meaning of Christmas as they join him on his journey to Bethlehem.




Osborne's The Legend of the Christmas Stocking ties fiction and history together in such a way that makes you want to read  the story over and over again!  Osborne touches on the background story of St. Nicholas and gives us some insight as to how Santa Claus came about!  You will think about the act of giving in a whole different light. This is definitely a book worth checking out.  It is both informative and entertaining to children and adults alike!

 For the younger ones in your house, Room for a Little One is the way to go!  I fell in love with the soft, magical illustrations and short, rhyming words instantly.  Martin Waddell does such an amazing job describing the warmth and love found in the stable as Mary and Joseph welcome the "boy who came for the world" from the animals perspective.  Love, love, love it!
